PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people were killed Monday evening in a two-vehicle crash on Spring Road in Patrick County, according to Virginia State Police.

The crash occurred around 6:20 p.m. Sept. 14 on Spring Road near Foxtrot Lane.

Police said a 2004 Kia Spectra was going south on Spring Road when it crossed the center line and struck a 2007 Ford truck head-on.

The Kia’s driver, David McAdams, 55, and passenger Dovie Maye Niten, 54, both of Ararat, were wearing seat belts and died at the scene.

The driver of the Ford was not wearing a seat belt and suffered life-threatening injuries.

The driver was flown to a hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation by Virginia State Police.
