PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A former Stuart resident has been arrested on numerous charges related to sexual offenses against a minor.

William Burkes Goad, 73, now residing in Clemmons, N.C., was taken into custody on December 4.

He faces the following charges:

• 2 counts of rape

• 4 counts of indecent liberties with a minor

• 5 counts of aggravated sexual battery

• 2 counts of forced sodomy

• 1 count of object sexual penetration

Authorities said the offenses occurred between 2019 and 2022, prior to Goad’s relocation to North Carolina.

Goad is currently being held without bond at the Patrick County Jail.
