MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — Martinsville Police believe two early morning break-ins Friday at local restaurants were committed by the same suspect.

The first incident occurred around 4:45 a.m. at El Palmar Mexican Grill, 407 Bridge Street South.

Captain Benjamin Peters said a male suspect forced entry into the building and took an undisclosed amount of cash.

The second break-in happened about two hours later, around 6:45 a.m., at Tequila’s Sports Bar and Grill, 1051 Spruce Street.

Captain Peters said the same method of entry was used and cash was taken.

According to Peters, surveillance video from both locations shows a slender male wearing all black with his face partially covered.

Police are reviewing the footage as part of the investigation.

No arrests have been made, and the suspect has not been identified.

While investigators believe the two incidents are connected, they are still gathering additional information before seeking public assistance in identifying the suspect.
