MARTINSVILLE, Va. (rbs news now) — A female was struck by a vehicle and taken to the hospital Tuesday evening in Martinsville.

Acting Police Chief Chad Rhoads told rbs news now that the female was transported to the hospital after being hit near the intersection of Memorial Boulevard North and Beaver Street.

Martinsville Police and Martinsville Fire & EMS were called to the scene shortly before 6 p.m.

The incident remains under investigation.
