
PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A Lynchburg man has been charged with murder following a deadly shooting investigation in Pittsylvania County.
Authorities responded around 4:30 p.m. May 4 to a residence in the 500 block of Iris Lane near Danville for a report of an unconscious man.
When authorities arrived, they located a deceased man inside the home.
The victim was later identified as 36-year-old Andrew Malachi Dickinson, who lived at the residence.
The body was transported to the medical examiner, where the death was ruled a homicide caused by a firearm.
Following the investigation, authorities arrested Joshua Caleb Kiser, 22, of Lynchburg, on Thursday.
Kiser is charged with first-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of murder, armed burglary, use of a firearm in the commission of armed burglary and shooting within an occupied dwelling.

Also charged in connection with the case is Francis Marie Whitley, 38, of Martinsville.
She is charged with accessory after the fact to armed burglary and murder.
Both suspects are being held at the Pittsylvania County Jail.
The Martinsville Police Department assisted the Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office Thursday night with the execution of a search warrant on Roundabout Road in connection with the homicide investigation.
Sgt. Robbie Jones told rbs news now at that scene that officers searched both a home and a vehicle during the operation.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
