HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Police have identified the two people that were killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash in Henry County.

Crews were dispatched shortly after 1:30 p.m. June 18 to the 3800 block of Horsepasture Price Road following reports of a crash.

According to Virginia State Police, a 2010 Volkswagen Jetta driven by 47-year-old Mark Hensley of Ridgeway was traveling on Horsepasture Price Road when it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2019 Mack dump truck.

Hensley and his passenger, 39-year-old Amy Hand of North Carolina, died at the scene.

State Police said neither occupant was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

A dog that was inside the Volkswagen survived the crash and was taken into the care of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Animal Services.

Police are continuing to investigate the crash.

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — Two people died in a crash Thursday afternoon on Horsepasture Price Road in Henry County, according to the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department.

The crash occurred in the 3800 block of Horsepasture Price Road near Moore’s Mill Road.

The road is expected to remain closed for several hours as emergency personnel work the scene.

Responding agencies included the Henry County Department of Public Safety, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Virginia State Police is leading the crash investigation.
