HENRY COUNTY, Va. (rbs news now) — A man was arrested Wednesday after authorities executed a search warrant at a residence on Figsboro Road as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.

The Henry County Sheriff’s Office obtained the search warrant for a home in the 200 block of Figsboro Road and SWAT team served the warrant on April 15.

Authorities said the residence has been the focus of multiple prior narcotics investigations, including previous search warrants and seizures of illegal substances.

Investigators also noted that wanted individuals have frequently been located at the address.

Following recent community complaints and continued investigative efforts, deputies determined that illegal drug distribution activity was ongoing at the residence.

During the search, investigators said they located and seized a substantial quantity of suspected narcotics, along with items commonly associated with drug distribution and manufacturing.

Evidence recovered included individually packaged narcotics, digital scales, packaging materials and a blender containing a powder substance consistent with narcotics processing.

Field testing indicated the presence of meth and fentanyl, authorities said.

As a result, George Robert Stephens, 41, was arrested and charged with two counts of possession with intent to distribute meth and one count of possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

Stephens is being held without bond at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.

Also at the residence, deputies took Michael William Pollard, 40, into custody on an outstanding capias for possession of meth.

Pollard is being held on a $3,000 secured bond.

“The Henry County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to aggressively pursuing those who distribute dangerous narcotics in our community,” Sheriff Wayne Davis said. “Let me be clear, we do not tolerate drugs in Henry County. Methamphetamine and fentanyl continue to destroy lives, damage families, and threaten the safety of our citizens. We will continue using every available resource to identify offenders, hold them accountable, and protect this community.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be filed.

The sheriff’s office thanked the Henry County Department of Public Safety for its assistance.
